History: Honkey Kong is a 2011 solo album by Eagles of Death Metal front man Jesse Hughes, under the pseudonym Boots Electric on Dangerbird Records. The album was released in September 2011, with the band playing their first live show one month prior.

A 2011 review from DIY Magazine described the album as being for “those with a sense of humor,” quoting Jesse Hughes’ own description of it as being “Eagles of Death Metal, but hornier.” The review also notes that “Honkey Kong” is a departure from his usual rock and roll sound, with more of an “electro-infused, somewhat psychedelic vision.”
