Their sound was steeped in the DIY grit of late-’90s desert sessions — heavy, groove-driven, and unapologetically loud — hinting at the sleazy swagger and tongue-in-cheek bravado that Hughes would later bring to Eagles of Death Metal. Though short-lived, Black List Heroes captured a crucial moment in the evolution of desert rock: when friends, dust, and distortion collided to create something wild, dangerous, and full of heart.
